The Paul G. Allen Frontiers Group encourages new ways of doing science, nurturing breakthroughs, and fostering a community built on a shared passion for discovery. Our team is constantly seeking new ideas and emerging fields where any early investment could have the power to upend dogma, overcome a stuck point, or to catalyze momentum in a field.
Ask Anything, Change Everything is a campaign to ask our community:
What should exist but doesn’t yet in artificial intelligence to unlock our understanding of fundamental biology.
Artificial Intelligence is a rapidly advancing field with implications and uses across science, technology, health, and everyday life. We seek ideas that expand the capabilities of artificial intelligence and its use in unlocking principles of basic biology. Submitters should consider bold ideas and areas that represent the long-term future of AI (what could AI look like in 2050) and consider avoiding areas that are well represented currently and in the near-term future in biotech and both public and private funding (AI is already being used for enhancing drug discovery and therefore would not be a good fit). We welcome ideas that encompass the use of artificial intelligence in the broadest sense that could include aspects of one or multiple fields (but not limited to): machine learning, data science, generative AI etc.
